About Dani
Posted by dani on May 29 2008
Dani Clifton was born and raised in the Cascade Mountains of the Pacific Northwest. She inherited her love for the written word from her Mother who has always been an avid reader and who ultimately urged her down the path of literature.
Growing up in the wilderness afforded Dani’s imagination to run as wild as the beasts she encountered out there. Whether sleuthing for D.B. Cooper’s stolen treasure or seeking out the elusive Bigfoot, she always carried a storyline in her head, commentating the adventure. So it is no surprise that she was frequently admonished by adults and authority for being ‘a daydreamer’ - something she never saw at all a bad thing to be. The ability to transport her mind elsewhere became her super power; keeping herself grounded in the physical world her challenge.
In early 2001 Dani finally began to take her gifts seriously and gave birth to her first novel “Death by Association”. It was as if she’d finally found that loop-hole to the dictated perception of adulthood: writing books gave her a validated excuse to be eccentric and a license to travel both worlds. Since then she has authored two more novels: “Tuatha de Diablo” and “Highway Prophet”, which is still in production.
Dani is also a former staff writer of political satire for the now retired e-zine Redress Press and has been published in the 2008 Clackamas Literary Review.
Dani and her work are still as-of-yet unrepresented and at this time she is seeking a literary agent to market her work so that she can focus on the creation and leave the marketing to her agent. She is also an active member of the Willamette Writers and Sisters in Crime. All of her work is registered and copy protected by the Writers Guild of America, West.
She currently resides on a river in the forests of Oregon with her husband, two children and all the wild beasts she once again encounters out there.
